Web Connectivity appoints James Willison as Managing Director

Web Connectivity Ltd (“Web Connectivity” or “the Company”), the provider of XML messaging gateway solutions enabling insurance organisations to exchange information using ACORD XML standards, announces the appointment of James Willison as Managing Director.

James joins Web Connectivity at a moment of significant growth both in the adoption of ACORD XML standards and in the use of Web Connectivity’s products. Parties to commercial insurance transactions use the Company’s products to implement the London Market reform agenda, to enable a greater efficiency in the placement process and to drive down the costs of doing business in the London market.

James has extensive experience in the industry and joins Web Connectivity after five yeas at the Market Reform Programme Office (“MRPO”) where he held various senior positions at a time where Lloyd’s itself, the Group of Six (“G6”), the International Underwriting Association and the London Market Insurance Brokers’ Committee, representing a large amount of Lloyd’s capacity, have driven an aggressive reform campaign. During his time at MRPO James was additionally responsible for the management of the LMP slip audit team and for the development of the LMP slip, the Market Reform slip and the ACORD compliant Global Placing Document.

Andrew Cassels, Founder and Executive Chairman of Web Connectivity said “James brings with him a wealth of relevant experience and we are privileged to have somebody of his calibre and expertise on the team. Web Connectivity is making a significant contribution to the progress made in adopting a better means of placing risk by the London market, and indeed globally. We are delighted James has chosen to join us at this exciting time.”

James Willison said: “The market is embracing electronic transfer of data and Web Connectivity has the best products available. It has been proven to work for brokers and managing agents for the transfer of documents and business messages for submissions, claims and closing details. My new role is a natural extension of what I have already done and I believe Web Connectivity is uniquely positioned to accelerate the reform agenda.”
