Xchanging selects Web Connectivity

Xchanging, the outsourcing firm that runs the London market’s back office, has announced a tie-up with Web Connectivity for its Insurers’ Market Repository (IMR) Gateway service.

Web Connectivity’s EnabledB2B Gateway, an ACORD messaging product that allows parties to communicate electronically, will be the gateway used to link into IMR, which is an electronic document repository for the London market.

Jonathan Bradshaw, managing director of Xchanging Ins-Sure Services (XIS), said: “XIS is committed to delivering infrastructure that accelerates the pace of change and increases the efficiency of the London Market. The purchase of ACORD technology and expertise from Web Connectivity is a key component of Xchanging’s strategy to be ever more responsive to the needs of the market.“

James Willison, managing director Web Connectivity, added: “We look forward to working with Xchanging to deliver a proven gateway ‘out of the box’ which we have already implemented widely across the London market. We are therefore confident we can deliver gateway technology to XIS which will make connections in the market easy and efficient.“

Steven Haasz, Lloyd’s director, Market Infrastructure and Programme Management, commented: “Ensuring that Lloyd’s is an easy, efficient, and cost-effective place to do business is a key priority. To do this, we need to make it as easy as possible for our brokers and underwriters to connect with the IMR. We welcome this partnership between Web Connectivity and Xchanging in achieving that.“
